The Indianapolis 500 is quickly approaching. There are many ways to watch the Indy 500 live online. As you are watching, you’ll be able to see the Pace Car that IMS has revealed. The pace car for the Indianapolis 500 is the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. The winner of this race will receive a replica of the pace car. This is a tradition that started in 1936.
In 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette was picked as a pace car for the Indianapolis 500. Since then, a Corvette has been a pace car 16 times. This is more than any other single model in the Indy 500 history.
This Indy 500 race happens on May 26th, and the Chevrolet Corvette will serve as the pace car. There are 33 visually similar Grand Sports Corvettes that are going to be “festival cars.” These cars will be around town throughout the weeks that lead up to this race.
There are some who are disappointed about the pace car being the Chevrolet Corvette. In 2002, Bowtie Brand has had a deal with the Speedway to be the providers of the pace cars for this race.
